Voyager Europe + Space Pharma: Protein crystallization on the ISS
Voyager Technologies, a leader in orbital platforms, operates 12 active research facilities aboard the International Space Station. The team has long been powering breakthrough science, technology and manufacturing for global institutions and private innovators.
That’s why Space Pharma, a space biotechnology company, chose Voyager as its partner for their latest mission. Launched Aug. 24, 2025 from Cape Canveral Space Force Station in Florida, and reaching the orbiting laboratory the next morning, their protein crystallization research experiment could lead to new treatments for some of the world’s most complex diseases. The experiment will operate self-contained within Nanode, Voyager’s modular plug-and-play facility designed for high-impact science in orbit.
Microgravity matters. In space, physical phenomena behave in ways that simply can’t be replicated on Earth. Microgravity gives scientists a unique lens into molecular structures, accelerating pharmaceutical breakthroughs that can ultimately benefit lives on Earth.
With Nanode, Space Pharma gains stabilized power, real-time data and the reliability of Voyager’s experienced mission support team. From navigating NASA’s rigorous safety reviews to coordinating astronaut operations, Voyager ensures every step of the journey is seamless. The company’s ground control team will continue to oversee the experiment in orbit and return the results safely home.
Nanode is built not just for today’s space station, but for tomorrow’s next generation commercial LEO destination, such as Starlab, ensuring uninterrupted access to microgravity research well into the future.
For companies new to space, Voyager is more than a service provider. The team is a #MissionReady mission partner, guiding research from idea to orbit and back. And on Earth, the Voyager Institute for Science and Technology Advancement helps innovators develop concepts before pushing them into space.
Since 2011, Voyager has been an ISS National Lab Implementation Partner, trusted to deliver the science that moves humanity forward. Together with companies like Space Pharma, we’re proving that the cures of tomorrow may begin today in orbit.
