DENVER, July 23, 2025 /Businesswire/ — Voyager Technologies, Inc. [NYSE: VOYG] successfully conducted a static test of their hot-running advanced solid-propulsion subsystem, on contract for Lockheed Martin’s Next Generation Interceptor (NGI) with the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
“We’re providing the precision-orientation control required to help stabilize NGI’s flight trajectory,” said Mike O’Brien, vice president and general manager of Voyager’s Defense Division. “We’re delivering a reliable solution that strengthens the missile defense architecture and safeguards national security for generations to come.”
The precisely controlled static test demonstrated the thruster’s ability to operate beyond required limits, ensuring NGI can maneuver as needed. The test also significantly reduces technical risks and is a lead-in to conducting the full-system hot-fire test later this year.
Voyager’s state-of-the-art controllable solid-propulsion technology regulates the use of solid propellant to maintain precision and operational endurance, while offering superior reliability, safety and affordability.
“Critical to countering advanced threats is strengthening the American defense industrial base, which we’re doing with Voyager’s enabling technology,” said Matt Magaña, president, Defense & National Security at Voyager. “And we’re ready – we adapted our business systems and engineering processes to meet NGI’s rigorous technical and quality standards as we progress to weapon-system integration.”
Under the current contract, Voyager will deliver a flight-qualified, production-ready subsystem to Lockheed Martin in support of NGI flight tests and future fielding.
Voyager is also developing the technology for future weapon system applications relevant to the U.S. military. NGI, as part of the Ground-based Midcourse Defense system, is a new, advanced interceptor to protect the homeland against limited long-range ballistic missile threats. This program serves as the first line of a layered missile defense architecture against evolving threats.
The views expressed are those of Voyager and do not constitute an endorsement by the Missile Defense Agency (MDA).
