Mission Services

We focus on creating user-friendly designs, leveraging off-the-shelf technology when available, and focusing on our different customer needs, whether government or commercial. Voyager has brought customers over 36 nations to space, and we look forward to expanding on this legacy. Our team is highly experienced in all phases of development, pre-launch, launch, and post-launch check out of payloads, spacecraft, and instruments. We are experienced with Control Center Operations, ground station maintenance, communications networks, and more.

Our team develops Conops for space missions involving multiple NASA centers, international partners, and commercial customers. We work closely with the Space Station planning teams to arrange the launch manifest for customers worldwide. Our team supports end-to-end mission planning, including mission planning & integration, payload design & development, safety management, command procedures, launch booking, remote command and monitoring, crew training, on-orbit operations, and more.

We are responsible for Space Station payload operations which includes the development of operations products, on-orbit crew and ground personnel training / certification, and real-time payload operations on the Space Station. We develop detailed crew mockups and trainers, and our team is trained and certified for real-time operations. Voyager designs and implements payload training initiatives, from classroom instruction to simulator/crew training unit design, development, maintenance and operations.
Our team has provided systems and crew operations training for 30+ years, training 75+ astronauts in support of hundreds of payloads flown on the Space Shuttle, MIR, and International Space Station.

Voyager developed, operates, and maintains multiple Mission Control centers, including the NASA Telescience Center (TSC) at NASA’s Glenn Research Center and our own, commercially owned and operated “BRIDGE” mission control in Houston. The TSC is a control center supporting Glenn-sponsored Space Station experiments and payloads, and includes ground support equipment and technical capabilities, including TT&C processing, payload data distribution and archiving, audio & visual channels, and secure public web and file services. The BRIDGE is our control center for our commercial payloads, where we have a direct line to the crew operating our customer payloads from Voyager facilities.

Safety of the astronaut crew is the top priority for the Space Station. Voyager assures that customer’s payload designs meet overall system safety requirements. This process includes:
- Safety Assessment and preparation of flight and ground safety data packages
- Hazard analysis and reporting
- Completion of the safety verification process, including logs
- Conducting phase safety reviews with NASA’s Payload Safety Review Panel
- On-Orbit Operations and Maintenance / crew procedures
- Design Drawings and Documentation
- Engineering Change Order and Ground Operations Reviews
Additional safety capabilities include the review of EEE parts, FMEA/CIL Analysis, Structural and Thermal Analysis, and Software Assurance. We also provide a payload safety and certification commercial approach where we self-certify to Space Station safety requirements.
