We are thrilled to announce that The Launch Company is one of the few companies selected to move forward in AFWERX’s Space Challenge. AFWERX received 800+ solution submissions, and we have been included in the top 31 solutions chosen to continue. Further, we are one of only four companies being considered in the Global Space Transport & Delivery Challenge.
A huge feat for our team, we are eager to get started on what’s next. We are designing a multi-user, mobile launch site that moves via standardized shipping containers that can fuel a small or medium rocket to enable tactical access to space. By incorporating automated operations technologies into ground support equipment, systems will be able to deploy to multiple locations quickly. The key innovation of this design is the development of process technologies for launch sites that minimize human operator intervention. This product is of extreme interest to commercial clients as they look to streamline and improve their launch operations. For mature space launch companies, these technologies can further reduce costs and improve safety. However, the biggest opportunity is with new launch customers who can adopt this technology to get to launch faster. If new companies have to continuously reinvent the wheel to stand up new sites, we will never get reliable, cheap access to space.
