Battery Management System

Radiation-hardened Li-Ion battery health and safety for the most demanding missions

Voyager’s Battery Management System (BMS) is a high-reliability, space-grade solution designed to ensure the safety and longevity of Li-Ion power systems in the most demanding environments. Voyager provides a modular solution for Li-Ion cell stacks from 8 to 40 cells, meeting complex NASA-level battery safety requirements without costly custom battery electronics development. The Voyager BMS offers a resilient, radiation-hardened foundation for critical power infrastructure from Moon to Mars and beyond.

Variations

Power Distribution Units (PDUs)
Power Conversion Units (PCUs)
International Space Station in orbit with solar panels.

Autonomous Power Management

Can be powered directly by the battery source or by external housekeeping power to provide cell voltage, current and temperature monitoring of Li-Ion cells.

Hardware Power-Off for Long-Term Storage

Dedicated hardware shutdown disconnects battery during inactivity, preserving cell state-of-charge during long-term storage or transit.

Mission-Critical System Safeguards

Protects power system infrastructure from overcharge, overcurrent and thermal extremes.
